Carnivor Steak & Grill Restaurant Review
7:17 PM
Had heard a lot of good reviews about Carnivor, and I finally get to try it last week! *yay* I was already interested to come here even when the building was half done, because the wood and stone and black window sills are just asdfghjkl, it's like a huge cabin! The amount of cars parked on the streetside is crazy everytime I pass through, and you can book on weekdays but not on weekends. Based on my experience, you'd have to queue during lunch time, because the amount of people who are interested in this beautiful new culinary place is no joke.
So first, I only get to take limited amount of picture because it was quite crowded, and I'm quite an introvert so I don't really feel comfortable sneaking around crowds of strangers or taking pictures of crowds eating because I feel like I might disturb their privacy.
As far as I know, the restaurant is separated into 3 sections: First the main dining area, where you can directly see when you come in :
Outdoor area (which are just so pretty with all the hanging greenies and water fountain and spacious area) :
And bar area which I didn't get to take a picture of because it is a secluded area and it was full. But it is basically right behind this water fountain:
They also provide a quite big VIP room, but again it was crowded and quite dark at that time, so I only managed to take a picture of half of the room, which is also the place where I ended up sitting :
Now moving on to the food! *whoop whoop*
(Butcher's Breakfast - 85k)
At first, I was interested because the picture on the menu looks so good and the toppings are generous. However, when it arrives on my table, I was quite disappointed because it looks quite different with the picture (look at the comparison on the photo above). The pork belly on top of the pizza was probably less than 10 small pieces, and it doesn't look so appetizing anymore. Nonetheless, the taste of the pizza was good, the cheese tastes nice, and the pork belly is also sweet and savoury. I just hope there was more! :(
(Chicken Cordon Bleu - 60-70k)
I am not surprised with the portion because it was in teenage meals category. It is okay though, because the chicken cordon bleu tastes crunchy on the outside, the chicken meat tastes tender inside, and the cheese complements it really well. I don't really remember the exact price, though.
(American Bacon - 80k)
My favourite from all the menu I ordered! The portion amount is generous, meat is tender and juicy, bacon is crispy just the way I like it, and the cheese melted perfectly! Truly satisfies a carnivor's craving! Definitely a must try <3
(Baby Back Ribs - Large 700 gr - 195k)
The ribs was huge, too bad it mostly caused by the big bone instead of meat :( However, the texture was perfect and the bbq glaze is amazing as well. I wouldn't recommend to pour too much of the sauce though, because I think it tasted a little bit too sweet, and it might destroy the original taste of the ribs.
Their service was nice, although a bit slow but it's understandable because it is so crowded. One thing that gives a little discomfort to me is when they play pop song out loud, and I was in VIP room where it is quite secluded, so the speaker even sounds louder. I think it'd be nice to just play instrumental music with a quite low volume, because the crowds is noisy enough. Overall, I think Carnivor is a very good place to eat, both interior aesthetic wise and food taste wise. I would definitely come back to eat here again, and I would certainly recommend you to go here!
Ambience (Place, Interior, Music) : 4/5
Price (Worthiness) : 4/5
Taste : 4/5
